In this second part of the kidneys, the spigots of the cardiovascular system, diseases of the kidneys are discussed. Diseases of the kidney are common and are divided into two groups – those caused by factors outside (extrarenal) and inside (intrarenal)the kidney. Additionally, since the kidneys filter every drop of blood, anything that can be a problem in the blood can also be a problem for the kidney.
